As I child, I took piano lessons. forever it seemed. My teacher was a nun who had arthritis. I lost all sympathy when she didn't conceal her deep disappointment of my failing my music theory test at age 12. I was her first student to have failed, as she drilled in my musical soul. However, my perseverance gave me a high honour pass mark the next year (no thanks to her.... my ear matured :) ) After practicing after school for 6 years or so, and passing my Grade 8 Piano and Theory 2, I decided to hang my not-so promising career up. When I was 15, I travelled with a guitar case in a bus to my lessons. I felt like a rebel !
Unfortunately, the guitar teacher was lousy, and I lost interest. Imagine how good I'd be today if I'd have had persevered... that's what we all say... My reknewed interest, and a 12 string guitar came after I started to live in the boonies of New Zealand and decided to learn something useful while I was there. And, that's it folks.... I'm still struggling....
